All Gajo Houses have satellite wifi. In some areas of the property, guests can get Claro and Vivo signal. For the safety of the environment and the community, lighting fires, cutting down trees, or using chemical products in the natural pool is prohibited. Feel free to enjoy our fruits and vegetables on site, but picking and taking them with you at checkout is not allowed. Our next guests will also appreciate the opportunity to pick fruits and vegetables.
The Alce Negro Chalet comfortably accommodates up to four people, making it ideal for those seeking a quiet space to work or create, such as writers and artists, as well as couples, small families, or friends who want a few days of connection with nature combined with simplicity and comfort. The chalet features a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, and an open mezzanine with a double sofa bed, offering a cozy and integrated atmosphere typical of mountain homes. The aim is to provide a pleasant space to rest, read, cook peacefully, or simply enjoy the view of the surrounding Atlantic Forest. Watching the sunset from the yard is a unique experience. In addition to the privacy offered by the chalet, guests at Alce Negro also have access to shared areas of the property, including a spring-fed lake perfect for swimming, an orchard, an organic garden, a small soccer field, a hammock area, and hiking trails that cross the property. This way, your stay combines the best of both worlds: the privacy of an independent chalet with the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a small rural village surrounded by nature.

Casas do Gajo are located in the Serra do Mar, 30 km from Ubatuba and 15 km from São Luiz do Paraitinga. Access is via kilometer 57 of the Oswaldo Cruz Highway, followed by about 5 km of dirt road, in a region filled with trails and waterfalls. The rural village is next to preserved areas of the Atlantic Forest and spans 11 alqueires, maintaining much of the native forest intact. Internal trails cross the property, offering stunning views of the Serra do Mar, ideal for peaceful walks surrounded by nature. The site also has a soccer field, orchard, vegetable garden, and a lake fed by a natural spring, perfect for cooling off on hot days. If you are traveling with your pet, the kennel is equipped with a high and comfortable tub, designed so your pet can return home clean after enjoying the countryside.

Access to the Serra do Mar region (Taubaté – Ubatuba): Between the coast and the Paraíba Valley, the Serra do Mar forms a unique landscape where mountains covered by the Atlantic Forest meet rivers, waterfalls, and historic trails. Driving up the mountains via the Oswaldo Cruz Highway, visitors pass through one of the most preserved areas in the state of São Paulo, with easy access to both the beaches of Ubatuba and the mountains and historic villages of the interior. The region is situated around the Serra do Mar State Park, one of the largest continuous protected areas of Atlantic Forest in the country, with hundreds of kilometers of preserved forests, trails, rivers, and waterfalls. The mountain range serves as a major ecological corridor between the coast and the Paraíba Valley, sheltering a vast biodiversity and impressive mountain landscapes.

Each type of traveler finds different experiences in this rare meeting of mountains and sea.
